been ages since i blogged!
ah well. time flies. in less than a month's time will be the first anniversary for alex & i.
time for updates. i'll just rattle off whatever that comes to my mind. be prepared for the randomness.
alex's family invited me to his grandma's birthday chalet. my 1st time meeting his dad's side of the family. v homely n welcoming feel.
alex's sis went switzerland or somewhere to complete her studies, so left him & his mum in sg. his mum occasionally invites me to their house to have dinner with them. & i think his mum alr knows of my bad habit of arriving late. sigh. but these days there are definately more interactions between me n her. happy abt that! (:
went gyu-kaku @ chijmes for his mum's birthday. gave her a pink agnes b purse with clasp. late. didnt exactly turn out well cos alex was trying to stir up the gossip shit abt kenny & rebecca. and cheryl found out. shit.
for christmas & nye gathered with some old friends & oso spent time hanging out with the group at ivan's house. got to know justina weilin & suzanne there. chatted a lot with cheryl's sis. saw some new faces (their exclassmates & schoolmates) and watching lame exclassmates of alex's trying to pick us up w/o knowing that im attached. (his name is spelt c-h-r-i-s). rebecca tanya yvonne clare they all came too, but i was so tired i fell asleep beside alex as he played poker. lol. when i woke had fun chatting with all of them though. kenneth was half drunk as usual.
oh ya, alex's family invited me to his mum's side for gathering too. they gave me christmas presents! haha. yi wai de shou huo. what a plesant surprise. presents a bit off form but at least they thought of me! haha. and also had a nice chat with the elders, they actually said i know alex quite well, and say that it is fate that we can get to meet this way, & praised me for understanding him so well. yay. networked around with his cousin samantha & some others too. alex & i played with the baby girl. with this neice, alex is officially an uncle now. (sounds so old HAHA!~~) the daddy of the baby introduced us as uncle & aunty. (sounds so old BOO~~) alex is super happy that im intro-ed as aunty. like i will confirm marry him or sth. diao~ lols. we also played with the little boy from next door. the same boy that came to raffles town club! oh, and i bought some liquer for the uncle (host of the house) as christmas present. $60 ah.. expansive.. my 1st christmas with them.. nvm la.. hais.. on a happier note, i got a Bulgari perfume set from alex as a christmas present (which i later got to know that it costs $149). i got for him a fancy LED watch that costs $99..
ivan started persuing justina and started to bring her more often to group outings. we got super close as we chatted more n more. so close that sam ivan kenneth noticed we were getting cozy with secrets. ivan started asking me for advice on how to chase justina n oso to decode her reactions. i had fun being the middle person between both my friends. ivan & justina, they're both really sweet people.
alex & i both now own a black Toyota Rush. as of jan 2009.
got quite involved in the bazaars thing as i wanted to kickstart my biz. bought stocks. sam help to carry. really nice of him.
mum's not feeling very well these days... worried for her.. luckily quite a false alarm.. heng~ i thank God for it.
once alex's aunts (staying in same condo as him) invited me to dine with them. saw the 2 aunts & the raffles town club aunt. raved abt the mushrooms. hee. really quite yummy. alex said they praised me to him, not sure to believe him or not.
eve's eve of CNY 2009, (sat) alex brought me to his dad's side for reunion dinner at a chinese restaurant in orchard called Tian Jin Lou. saw many of his relatives there. alex says his cousins always change their gf, bringing a new girl to the gathering every year. -.- very off form of him to say that. had family portrait taken. -.- oh, got angpow's too! haha.
actual cny eve went to small uncle's house for reunion dinner. i like big family gatherings! this is my own extended family, i like it even more. hehe~ i like to see everyone together. pity we do this only once a year.. we must spend more time with ah ma.. ah ma's really sweet.. i like ah ma a lot.. angpow collection time too. haha. did some angpow arts & crafts thing with ah kim, small uncle & ah ma. happy happy gathering.
CNY day 1 visited ah ma. happy to see her! dinner at alex's dad's side. some yishun place. brought oranges, wished his parents happy cny. angpow collection time again. got to chat with his cousins cos overnight mj session. his grandma joined in ok! wa.. hiong~ haha. his cousin looked a little like alex in the grad photo. i think the eyebrows are heriditary. even alex's mum agrees so. anyway overall happy bunch, can crap ard. the coffee creamer thing made them laugh even more.
CNY day 2 alex visited my family to wish them for cny. watched money no enough 2 on dvd. dad & mum finally got to see the Toyota Rush in daylight. then alex drove us to his mum's gathering for dinner at his aunt's house. everyone's there. the baby girl's there too! hehe. everyone's crowding around the baby girl trying to get her attention, but for some unfathomable reason the baby girl kept her gaze at me! hehe.. she kept looking in my direction, unfazed by the ppl clamouring over her. wow. needless to say his family noticed and said she "tai leng loy" (translated: baby girl looking at pretty girl). the baby girl's mum (his cousin) says that she will wait for alex's angpow next year!! -.- oso found out on this day that alex's dad's health is not really at his peak... once again a reminder to love & cherish everyone around u everyday..
after that alex & i met up with the guys at coffee bean in town. played a game called saboteur. zirong praised that the both of us looked good together (we were both in orange unplanned). wa compliment frm zirong.. rare.. haha! found out that suzanne & kar wai are attached! wow.. happy for them. kar wai's a pretty good catch.. =)
cny day 4 alex went to wish ah ma happy cny.. cos i told him day 3 cannot visit.. haha.. this is the 1st time im bringing a guy to see ah ma.. ah ma is overly generous.. she gave alex an $80 angpow!! argh~ envious. had lunch/high tea. 1st time see alex eating vegetarian food hehe.
on our first Valentine's day, we went to sentosa for a cable car ride. exchanged presents. i got alex a Bulgari belt, he gave me a Tiffany necklace & put it on for me. Happy~~~ brought me to jap restaurant in sentosa for dinner. discovered that he did some researching before settling for this restaurant. am very happy that he made the effort to research. love. heard that alex's vday present for me also caused quite a stir among the guys. lol~
alex has to report for reservist on 9th march. what the- why must saf do this ah.. afterall it is my 1st birthday with alex.. on the eve of my birthday somemore~ hais... nth to say~~~ we celebrated on 8th march instead.. he got for me a very very expansive sunglass as my 22nd birthday present!!!!! dont ask me why he got sunglasses for me... tot it is a rather uncommon present.. hmms~ interesting. but he really spent a bomb on it. haha oh well. & then we went suntec to dine at tony roma's. cos he knows i love ribs. i am pleasantly surprised that he makes these little observations & mental notes abt me. i tot he is usually rather self-centered & unobservant one.. haha.. saw rabbits & hamsters at a nearby pet shop! so cuuuutee~~~ hehe. :D alex also discovered that i reared hamsters in the past for the 1st time.
i'm really happy that my friends made the effort to celebrate my birthday with me.. they really made a difference in my life. im really happy to have met them. mon eve of birthday had dinner with jm, tue birthday with jk at sentosa & dinner with cloud & wy at vivo, (really happy cloud can come out to meet me cos she was just discharged from hospital few days ago), wed with june julia kino yishan to kbox at amk (these really sweet people took leave from work just for me! wa~ very touched by their sincerity. 9 years of friendship.. ) and fri gathering with joan jm richard & ken.. really thank you to all of u for your time & presents.. would have been a lonely birthday otherwise w/o your presence. :D
alex has been calling me nonstop since reservist started. realised it's been a long long time since we really chatted on the phone. this is probably a good opportunity to catch up in the conversational department. missed the long phone calls in the initial dating stage when we talked for hours on end.
when he booked out i realised that there's actually a lot of things that he told me but forgot to inform his mum, such as book out timing, which phone he would be using etc etc. i was just abt to complain that he didnt give me enough attention when he pointed out that he had spent the whole of his book out time with me. which, upon reflection, i think it's quite true too. i guess that's his way of showing love? made a mental note to myself to not let these things slip out of my mind.
i still think i am rather blessed. love.
